The third annual MicroLED Connect & AR/VR Connect event will take place at the High Tech Campus Eindhoven, Netherlands, on 16–17 September 2026. The event will bring together stakeholders from across the global MicroLED and AR/VR ecosystem, including end users, device manufacturers, material and equipment suppliers, technology developers, and industry experts. The conference will cover key developments across the MicroLED and AR/VR display landscape, from technology and manufacturing challenges throughout the development and production process, to emerging applications, display architectures, and market trends. The program will provide perspectives from different parts of the value chain and from industry participants across both Eastern and Western markets.
In addition, two parallel tracks of industry-led masterclasses will be held on 15 September 2026, the day before the main conference. The masterclasses will provide more focused sessions on selected topics, combining technical, practical, and application-oriented insights from industry experts. Together, the conference and masterclasses will provide an opportunity to understand the current state of MicroLED and AR/VR technologies, discuss key industry challenges and developments, and explore potential directions for their continued evolution.

Topic : The Quest for Ultra-Low-Power Implementation of Transformer-Based LLMs: Opportunities for Optoelectronics
The rapid evolution of Transformer-based Large Language Models (LLMs) is transforming AI applications, but their growing computational complexity is creating an equally pressing challenge: energy efficiency. As model size, context length, and inference demand continue to increase, the energy required to move and process vast amounts of data is becoming a fundamental constraint on the scalability of AI systems.
This presentation explores the quest for ultra-low-power implementation of Transformer-based LLMs and examines how advances in optoelectronic devices, integration, and system architectures could offer fundamentally new approaches to addressing these challenges, complementing electronics where conventional approaches face increasing efficiency constraints. More broadly, it considers the potential of optoelectronics as an enabling technology for energy-efficient AI computing —from optical interconnect to emerging approaches for accelerating the core operations of Transformer architectures.
